Aerospace and Aircraft lifts for component manufacturing, assembly, and testing
Material Handling Solutions For Aircraft Lifts | Aerospace Lifts | Alum-a-Lift

Proven Aerospace and Aircraft Lifts

If you have a material handling need, Alum-a-Lift can design and build the perfect solution. Our lifts use a combination of our proven dual-mast lift foundation and tailored components.

Our lifting equipment is in use by every major aircraft manufacturer and can be found throughout the manufacturing process, including component manufacturing, subassembly, final assembly, and testing.

Alum-a-Lifts are also utilized by end users in airline and military technical operations groups for maintenance, repair, inspection, and service of aircraft subassemblies and components.

Built to Withstand the Rigors of the Aircraft Industry

Alum-a-Lift designs address real-world off-center loading conditions, which are the largest contributor to failure in a lightweight lift system. Our dual-mast construction will withstand heavier side loads or dynamic side loads.

Alum-a-Lift understands the rigorous quality requirements of the aircraft industry. Our aerospace and aircraft lifts can be built to be CE compliant and to meet other required standards. Our engineers routinely address electrostatic discharge (ESD) concerns. In addition, we can build explosion-proof lifts for hazardous environments where concentrations of volatile materials are present.

Every handling system undergoes rigorous factory testing that simulates actual use, and extensive QC inspections are performed prior to shipment.

Recent Aerospace and Aircraft Lifts

Alum-a-Lifts are useful in the manufacture of every component of an aircraft. Rotation and translation about all axes are available. Here are some of our recent lifts:

Final Assembly

Assembling and installing major subassemblies has historically been the exclusive domain of overhead hoists and stationary fixturing. No longer.

Multiple tandem lifts can be combined to form mobile, high capacity systems capable of lifting and rotating assemblies weighing thousands of pounds and that are greater than 50 feet long.

Built-to-Order Lifting Solutions

Alum-a-Lift can configure work positioners, allowing unencumbered access to all sides of a component. We can include handling devices to integrate a handling system with your existing fixturing, or we can provide a complete, turn-key solution for the entire manufacturing cycle.

An Alum-a-Lift can fit in narrow aisles and under overhead obstacles, and our counterbalanced lifts are perfect for environments where there is no clearance for a traditional lift’s legs.

Here are just a few examples of the kinds the lifts we’ve built for the aircraft and aerospace industry:

Portable vacuum lifts for smooth components like canopies, skins, cowlings, or windshields

Customized end-effectors that can load bins, baskets, totes, or trays into environmental chambers, anechoic chambers, vibe stations, thermal chambers, or ovens.

Roll lifters and roll handling carts for carbon fiber prepreg, plastics, and laminates

Lifts equipped with tethers, articulated arms and other fixtures to handle molds, dies, fixturing, tooling, and other components

Boom lifts, roll inverters, roll manipulators and expanding mandrels for spools, rolls, and reels

Clamping lifts to raise and rotate drums and buckets

“We have been very pleased with the versatility and durability of this piece of equipment.”
