This shaft gripper lift was designed for a multinational consumer goods corporation that needed to address a safety concern within their manufacturing processes. The concern involved a through-shaft/mandrel to be inserted into a roll of material before being loaded onto a machine for processing. The mandrel shaft can be too heavy for operators to safely install or remove on their own. Alum-a-Lift offered a solution that includes a shaft gripper which securely clamps the mandrel from the end, allowing the operator to insert (or extract) the mandrel from the roll. This resolution met their material handling needs safely and efficiently.
