Details
Roll handling on busy food packaging and assembly lines requires equipment that is compact, ergonomic, and easy to control in tight spaces. Project 37129 is a custom Alum‑a‑Lift designed to handle rolls weighing up to 85 lbs. [39 kgs.], including rolls of plastic food containers used on an assembly line. Built with a powered clamp and wrist-style handling fixture, the lift helps operators grip, lift, rotate, and position rolls with less manual effort and better control.
The powered clamping system secures the roll during pickup and transfer, reducing the need for operators to manually hold or stabilize the load. The fixture provides 360° manual rotation, while the clamp offers 90° manual rotation, giving operators the flexibility to orient the roll for loading, staging, or assembly line use. This combination allows teams to position rolls more precisely without excessive lifting, twisting, or repositioning.
Designed for tight aisles and assembly line environments, the lift gives operators an ergonomic way to move rolls through limited floor space while keeping the process simple and repeatable. By combining powered clamping, manual rotation, and a compact handling design, this roll handling lift improves safety, reduces strain, and supports smoother line-side material handling. The same concept can be adapted for food packaging, consumer goods, plastics, medical packaging, and other assembly operations where lightweight to midweight rolls need to be handled safely in confined spaces.
