Details
Handling motorized impeller fans for HVAC systems can be awkward, repetitive, and physically demanding, especially when the part needs to be lifted, wired, rotated, and repositioned before installation. Project 37045 is a custom Alum‑a‑Lift designed to handle 150 lb. [68 kg.] motorized impeller fans used in building AC systems. The lift picks the fan up from a pallet, rotates it to the required orientation, and places it onto a table so operators can complete wiring additions and other assembly work with less manual strain.
Previously, the customer lifted the fans with hooks, completed wiring work, manually flipped the fan 180°, and then installed it into place. That process created ergonomic risk and required operators to control a heavy, awkward load by hand. To improve safety and repeatability, Alum‑a‑Lift designed a powered rotation solution that allows the fan to be turned smoothly and securely without manual flipping. The bolt‑together attachment sandwiches the motorized impeller fan for stable handling during rotation, while locking pins help secure the attachment and maintain control throughout the process.
The lift includes a fork set attachment with discrete width adjustment and multi‑size fork sets to accommodate different fan sizes. Universal fork attachments can be stored onboard the lift, keeping tooling organized and available at the point of use. With 360° powered rotation and manual push positioning, operators can move the fan efficiently from pallet to table, rotate it into the best working orientation, and reduce repetitive strain during HVAC component installation. The same approach can be adapted for other fan, blower, motor, and HVAC component handling applications where parts must be safely rotated, wired, assembled, or installed.
