Details
Chemical eductors and their stainless-steel tanks are heavy, awkward to handle, and packed with critical access points that can’t be crushed or blocked. Project 36479 is a custom Alum‑a‑Lift designed to handle a chemical eductor tank assembly process end-to-end: picking bare tanks from a cart, holding and rotating the subassembly during build, and finally lifting and positioning it for installation on the machine. The lift is engineered for tanks up to 200 lbs.
A powered clamp with force limiting and custom fit clamp pads secure the stainless-steel tank without damaging surfaces or interfering with ports, nozzles, or other necessary access points. The clamp pads are shaped specifically for the tank, so the operator can safely grip, rotate, and work on the assembly without obstructing any connection or inspection areas. A 360‑degree powered rotation module lets the operator rotate the subassembly to any angle needed for assembly and inspection, rather than walking around the tank or trying to support it by hand.
To protect the lifting mechanism in a chemical-handling environment, the lift incorporates bellows that shield the operating components from splashes and contaminants, helping keep the motion system clean and reliable over time. The narrow clearance and required center height have been built into the lift configuration so it can fit within the 5″ side clearance and still reach the 67″ mid-height for installation.
Together, the force limited powered clamp, full rotation capability, and protective bellows create a dedicated chemical eductor tank handling solution that reduces manual lifting, improves control, and supports safer assembly and installation. The same approach can be adapted for other chemical process vessels and subassemblies that must be built and installed in tight spaces.
