Alum-a-Lift recommended specific precautions to prevent grit from entering the mechanism, noting that linear slides are more susceptible to trapping abrasive minerals than rotary joints.

To address these concerns, Alum-a-Lift offered IP65-rated dust protection and powered wrists for front-to-back rotation of horizontally presented rolls. Powered rotation, obstacle detection that stops downward motion and enables tilt-up, ensures safe and efficient handling of heavy, large rolls.
