Details
Metal additive manufacturing’s next all-in-one solution was designed for moving heavy or bulky metal additive components and 3D-printed parts for the aerospace industry, while saving space on the manufacturing floor. The Ergonomic Aerospace Lift for Metal Additive Parts is a custom Alum‑a‑Lift with interchangeable parts for different functions and controlled areas, such as class 10,000 cleanrooms.
This material handling lift was developed for applications where operators must position large, heavy, and hard‑to‑reach additive components such as custom slurry containers, rolls of foil, and custom build plates with a single, space‑saving system. By replacing manual lifting and multiple dedicated devices, the lift reduces operator strain, improves safety, and frees valuable floor space in additive manufacturing and related processes within defense and national lab facilities.
This ergonomic lifting device combines lateral and vertical shuttles, forward reach, and deflection compensation to provide precise, multi‑axis positioning of different parts. A width‑adjust fork set allows a single end‑effector to accommodate a range of part sizes, enabling one lift to service multiple tools, fixtures, and workstations.
For repeatable, operator‑friendly use, the lift incorporates torque‑limited handwheels for controlled fine positioning, and a dedicated storage cart for end‑effector attachments to keep tooling organized and protected. The Ergonomic Aerospace Lift for Metal Additive Manufacturing is well suited to facilities that require a custom ergonomic lifting solution offering multi-functional part positioning of metal additive and 3D-printed parts, reduced manual material handling, and efficient use of floor space, particularly in defense and other related industries.
