An engineering and technology company needed an ergonomic solution to lift foil rolls out of its packaging, transport safely and securely to a storage trolley where it’s pushed off via the end of the mandrel. The rolls are then acclimatized before being moved from storage to the production line.

Alum-a-Lift manufactured a complete lifting system to handle the process. This included the roll lifter with expanding mandrel and pusher, tug and storage trolleys. The lift comes equipped with a manual deflection compensation module for alignment of the roll with the cart and machine mandrel. Also featured is our quick exchange battery system for minimizing downtime between charges, a laser alignment system, lateral shuttle module, and the lift is rated for Cleanroom Class 100,000 (ISO 8). The powered pusher includes a safety feature that only allows movement when the mandrel tip is disengaged, securing the roll against falling.
