A biopharmaceutical company requested a floor-mounted boom lift that would be bolted to the floor for use in handling chromatography lids at 881 pounds. This Alum-a-Lift has an IP65 rating making it dust-tight to withstand low-pressure washdowns and includes a single lifting boom with a four-point tether, central load-rated hoist ring and stainless steel chain.

Additionally, to simplify their process, the end-effector is able to swivel from side to side at 180°. Handles were added to the lift to control the rotation, and the base assembly includes a foot operated lock to hold equipment in a desired direction while staging a fluid carrier involved in the chromatography absorbing phase.
