A company specializing in laboratory automation was looking for a more efficient and ergonomic method of transferring large diagnostic assemblies from a worktable to packaging. Assemblies range from 1-4” in height, and 20-30″ wide depending on the system. Previously, a standard forklift was implemented; however, the forks could not extend all the way across lengthwise, so its use was limited.

Alum-a-Lift’s crossbar boom lift offers the solution for packaging these assemblies by making use of screw-in handles that are first attached to the assembly’s base. The lift’s 4-point hook system engages these handles. The lift is sized to straddle a 36” wide pallet, and reach to the center of a 65” long pallet, making it the safest and most ergonomic solution for their application.
