A manufacturer of electric vehicle charging stations needed a lift to handle power modules in their test facility. The modules feature ergonomic hand grips, but weigh nearly 100 lbs. and need to be loaded horizontally into a test fixture. A fixture was designed to interface with the hand grips and attach to the power module. The fixture features two pick points located above the module, allowing the boom to lift from directly above the module’s center of gravity. Clearance between the fixture’s upper arm and the top of the module allow it to be placed in the test fixture with the fixture still attached.
