Optical lenses for space telescopes must undergo sputtering, cleaning and inspection processes in a Class 100 (ISO 6) cleanroom environment. This Alum-a-Lift utilizes a set of adjustable, captivating fingers which prevent surface scratching by engaging the edges of the lens with non-marring plastic. A powered tilting head and manual rotation allow the lens to be flipped 90° in the front-to-back direction and rotated 360° side-to-side for placement in process equipment.
