Alum-a-Lift is proud to be the industry standard material handling solution for Electronics manufacturing, including a complete line of ATE lifts and accessories for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and In-Circuit Test (ICT.)
Alum-a-Lifts are commonly found inside clean rooms for the assembly of individual components, in production lines serving as mobile work positioners and assembly fixtures, in Quality Assurance (QA) lines, loading thermal chambers, environmental chambers, and vibration stations, and at contract manufacturing facilities to support every aspect of assembly, packaging, and test.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) concerns are understood and can always be addressed.
Alum-a-Lift understands clean rooms. With over 25 years’ experience, any lift can be configured in a clean room compliant version. Alum-a-Lifts can be used in up to FED STD Class 10 (ISO 4.) Even the most basic battery powered lifts use a clean, electric, ball screw drive suitable for Class 10,000 (ISO 7.)
For removing and packaging chassis and other electronic assemblies, mechanical tong sets and grippers or portable vacuum systems are often employed. Grippers can clamps can be either manual or powered, featuring adjustable force limiting. Vacuum lifts can be run from your existing compressed air supply, or with an on-board vacuum generator.
Our most nimble, light weight compact lifts can be found in continuous-duty LEAN processes where mobility and durability are of the highest concern. Our durable dual-mast construction and optional quick-exchange battery system allow an a platform or roller deck lift to load laptops into burn-in racks continuously. Counterbalanced lifts are available if clearance for legs isn’t available. Case studies indicate average downtime for maintenance falling under two hours per year!
Higher capacity electrical lifts equipped with a steerable, powered drive wheel populate server racks and card cages with components in excess of 700 lbs. Our extensive library of clean lifts and lateral shuttles, docking features, articulated arms, tilt modules, and rotation modules allow for safe, repeatable loading of high value components, without resorting to automation.
Automated Test Equipment
Alum-a-Lift is the industry leader in handling solutions for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and In-Circuit Test (ICT.) Our patented “Alum-a-Grips” come factory installed on many test fixtures and are designed exclusively with our standard end-effectors in mind. Our ATE lifts can load fixtures weighing up to 1000 lbs. onto testers positioned in both flat and angled configurations. Models are also offered with 360 degree rotation, allowing safe access to the underside of test fixtures for service. ATE lifts with rotation can be used as mobile workstations and work positioners.
Reasonably priced “Alum-a-Racks” are available for fixture storage and are fully compatible with the lightest, most maneuverable Alum-a-Lifts. Counterbalanced lift models are also available for use with fixture carousels and other high-density storage devices.
The Standard Overload Safety Device (SOSD) is offered on all ATE lifts and can be incorporated into any Alum-a-Lift. This module can detect when the lift is overloaded or encounters a stationary obstacle, and halt lift travel to protect itself and your equipment.
Alum-a-Lift tailors lifters for your specific process. An Alum-a-Lift is optimized for the equipment it will interact with and the environment within which it will be used. Confined spaces, narrow aisles, overhead obstacles, raised, grated, and tiled flooring, and other challenges are identified and addressed as a standard practice.
