Among the many applications where Alum-a-Lifts may be found are: the build and test of mechanical and electronic assemblies; the population and maintenance of servers, racks, and card cages; finished component handling for pack out, installation, and test; and handling UPS batteries inside of backup power facilities.

Alum-a-Lift is an expert in cleanroom requirements and cleanroom lifting systems. Having over 25 years’ experience in providing cleanroom lifts, Alum-a-Lift can configure any lift for clean room compliance. Alum-a-Lifts can be used in up to FED STD Class 10 (ISO 4.) Even the most basic battery powered lifts use a clean, electric, ball screw drive suitable for Class 10,000 (ISO 7.)

Alum-a-Lifts are useful in the manufacture of light-weight components. We build clamping lifts to raise and rotate drums and buckets, roll handling systems for carbon fiber prepreg, plastics and laminates, and simple booms and expanding mandrels for spools and reels. Boom lifts equipped with tethers, and other fixtures are often used to handle molds, dies, fixturing, tooling, and other components used for fabrication. Articulated arms are available for accessing hard to reach components.

Portable vacuum systems are often employed for canopies, skins, nose cones, windshields, glass, lenses, or other smooth components. Vacuum lifts can be run from your existing compressed air supply, or with an on-board vacuum generator. Rotation and translation about all axes are available.

Alum-a-Lift understands the rigorous quality requirements in the manufacture of avionics modules, pumps, power supplies, electronics chassis, HVAC, camera turrets, and other mission critical assemblies. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) concerns are understood and can always be addressed. In hazardous environments, explosion proof lifts/hazardous environment lifts are available.

Roller decks, fork sets, or other simple end-effectors can be useful to load bins, baskets, totes, and trays into environmental chambers, anechoic chambers, vibe stations, thermal chambers and ovens. Alum-a-Lift understands that some of these machines have their own geometric challenges, and an off-the-shelf system may not fit.

Alum-a-Lift can configure work positioners, allowing unencumbered access to all sides of a component. Adaptors can be designed to integrate a system with your existing fixturing. Complete, turnkey handling systems and handling devices are also available.

An Alum-a-Lift can fit in narrow aisles, under overhead obstacles. Counterbalanced lifts are available that reach into systems where clearance underneath may not be present for the lift’s legs. Telescoping lifts are available when height of the system in constrained. Often a single lift can replace multiple overhead hoists or stationary balancers.
